1997年７月10日午前１時頃、鹿児島県出水市の針原川で土石流が発生しました。この土石流により、針原地区の住民に22名の犠牲者が出てしまいました。鹿児島県としては、1995年7月の鹿児島豪雨以来の大きな災害となりました。

Around 1 a.m., July 10th, 1997, the debris flow occurred on the Harihara river in the Kagoshima prefecture Izumi city. 22 habitants died with this debris flow. As the Kagoshima prefecture, it was to do the disaster being which is big since July, 1995.
